On May 31, 2026, Murad from Wear The Peace sent me the following email that I would like to share with you:
Hi Sena,
Last night, I was editing a video so that I could share it with you today. I teared up as I clipped and reworked the videos together. It was an initiative for orphans in Gaza that we held last week. I’d love for you to watch the video below.
You can watch the video here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Vf6baoC_I
Last week, in partnership with The Zaynab Project, we organized a mock marathon for Gaza’s children, bringing together 150 orphaned children for a 500 meter race filled with joy, hope, and community. Before the event, each child was able to pick out a new pair of shoes so they could participate with pride and excitement. After the race, the celebration continued with food, entertainment, games, and activities designed to give the children a day of happiness and relief amid the unbelievable hardships they face.
There are tens of thousands of children in Gaza who have lost their parents. Most of them live with extended family while many others live in orphanages after the Israeli occupation murdered the rest of their loved ones. The genocide is still ongoing. Please continue to give your voice for Gaza.
The reason I teared up while editing this video was seeing the children of Gaza smile, after the sleepless nights in fear, the years of starvation, the constant smell of blood in the same streets they once walked to a school that no longer exists. Seeing them smile moves my heart. What they have seen is unimaginable. They are just babies. What we saw through our phone screens broke us. I can only imagine being there and witnessing it in real life. This is all to say that I love to see Palestinian joy, and this is why I was excited to share this with you today.
Thank you for aiding us so that we can make children feel like children again. Even if it’s just for a moment. These initiatives are not possible without you. Keep your voice loud for Gaza. Free Palestine.
Peace and blessings,
Murad
