READ NOW: Celebrating My Birthday at Club Med Cancun Yucatan

Hi, everyone! I’m back from my vacation in Cancun, in case you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting for days. It’s been a fun and enjoyable trip for me, my dad and my younger brother, Landy. We hope to do it again–this time, for a week–since we felt that the few days spent there didn’t do it justice.

Anyway, I was able to take at least some photos of my trip there as well as record a video of an evening concert. I hope you enjoy!

Day 1 – December 4, 2023 (My Birthday)

We arrived at the airport a few hours earlier, so we had plenty of time to get through security. The flight to Cancun came on time, and the plane wasn’t full, so my dad and Landy sat in other seats to spread out. I, of course, sat in the window seat to see what was going on and to take pictures as we were going high above the clouds.

When we arrived in Cancun, we were able to get through customs and our ride to the resort was waiting for us among the other shuttles.

When we got to the resort, the staff gave us wristbands as keys to open the doors to our rooms. Landy and I as well as my dad had the Superior rooms with the balconies, which were next-door to each other. My room had a card with some Ferrero Roche candy on the bed, which I shared with Landy.

As soon as we got settled, we went to the buffet* for dinner. After we ate dinner, we went to the bar to get some drinks**. Then we walked back to our rooms to get some rest.

In the middle of the night, I would go out on the balcony to watch the lights that were shown on the building where the Club Med logo is across the ocean. It would be warm outside much like during the day.

Day 2 – December 5, 2023

The next morning, we took an early morning stroll around the resort before breakfast. Then we had breakfast at the buffet*. Afterwards, we went to the beach to get soaked by the waves.

Then we washed ourselves off in the outside shower on the beach so we can go to the pool. Landy and I went in the pool while Dad decided to stay on the side to take pictures. At that time, there was an aerobics class in the shallow end, but Landy wasn’t too into it. So we decided to go to swim in the deep end. At first, Landy was afraid to swim over there, because like me, he hasn’t swam in the pool since we moved from New Jersey to Virginia over 10 years, but then he saw how easily I swam there and he decided to swim there too.

Afterwards, we went to lunch*, the bar**, and dinner* with us going back to our hotel rooms in between. After dinner, we went to an evening concert. I even recorded them performing the song, “Just the Two of Us”–which you can view below–while Dad went to get himself and Landy sombrero cocktails.

Day 3 – December 6, 2023

As you can see, I didn’t take many pictures that day. We did the usual things like going to the bar** as well as the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner*. We even went for an early morning swim, since we didn’t care too much for the aerobics class. Then we went to the souvenir shop to get us 4 “Cancun 45” t-shirts. (The “45” stands for the Cancun’s 45th anniversary.)

Day 4 – December 7, 2023

Early that morning, I decided to go to the balcony one last time to look at the sunrise, which I provided pictures for below.

Then slowly but surely, I started packing Landy’s and my bags, making sure to not leave anything behind. Then we went to breakfast** and made sure that we checked out by 10 AM EST, which was the time when the shuttle was supposed to pick us up and drop us off at the airport.

We went through customs again and then we boarded our plane. Like our flight to Cancun, Landy and Dad decided to sit in other seats to spread out, since the plane wasn’t full. I even took a picture of what I saw outside the window.

*Food that we ate at the buffet varied depending on what time of day it was. For breakfast, I would have crepes, watermelon, sausages, ham and/or bacon. For lunch/dinner, I would have fish, watermelon, chicken and/or beef snitzel. For dessert, I would have ice cream or cake.

**I’ve had a pina colada, a virgin strawberry daquiri, tequila and a sombrero cocktail.

The cover image is of both sides of the birthday card I got with the candy at Club Med Cancun Yucatan, since the other picture of the card with the Ferrero Roche was blurry. I turned 36 on December 4, 2023.
