Here’s the itinerary for 2024 that ETS has emailed me:
DAYS 1 – 4
Depart the USA, arrive in Cairo, and begin your sightseeing! Enjoy Memphis, the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, the tomb of King Zoser, Giza, the Great Pyramids, the colossal Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, the Citadel of Saladin, the Hanging Church in Old Cairo, and a ride on the Nile aboard a traditional Egyptian felucca.
DAYS 5 – 7
Travel to Jordan and step into wonder! Transfer from Egypt included! Enjoy Mount Nebo, Madaba, the City of Mosaics, the Church of Saint George, Jerash, and Petra. Marvel at the intricate detail of a city that was cut into the cliffsides of rose-colored rock.
DAYS 7 – 13
Discover a first-century synagogue in Magdala in the Holy Land. (Transfer from Jordan included!) Worship as you sail across the Sea of Galilee, and then visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. On the Mount of Beatitudes, contemplate the “Sermon on the Mount. Recall Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist at the Jordan River – an ETS favorite! Visit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home and look out over Tel Megiddo (Armageddon) to view one of the most important archaeological sites in Israel. Enjoy Bethlehem and remember Jesus’s humble birth. Take a photo atop the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended into heaven. Walk the Palm Sunday Road, pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, walk the Via Dolorosa, celebrate communion at the Garden Tomb, and return home with a treasure trove of memories! All this and so much more await you on ETS’s Ancient Wonders Journey!
